Colour me perfect

Dulux is offering one lucky reader the chance to have two rooms in their home transformed by its design and colour manger Louise Smith.

Louise will give a free colour consultation to create for you a bespoke look for spring. Your rooms will be decorated to the highest standard using a Dulux –accredited decorator and you will be given £500 to spend on accessories.

For a quick and affordable way to change the look and feel of your home, nothing is as magical as paint. But there are so many paints it is difficult to know what to choose, or how to use them. Now Dulux has drawn on expert advice to produce its latest bold collection of cutting-edge interior looks.

Dulux’s creative director Mary Ward and Louise Smith mixed and matched their ideas with a top team from the world of fashion, textiles, architecture and design: creative consultant Ilse Crawford, designers Daniel Hopwood and Orla Kiely, and textile designer Jenni Little, and the result is Dulux’s 2008 trends: Reinvent, Envy, Nurture and Hope.

Reinvent is slightly retro with some rich bright and pastel colours, from midnight blues and coral reds to buttercup yellow and velvety teal. Nuture creates a neutral backdrop with fleshy pink, nutmeg and pecan teamed with stone and chocolate hues to provide a warm and relaxed mood. Envy is dramatic, extravagant and a little tongue-in-cheek. The palette is rich blacks, pearl whites, deep greys and flashes of mustard and gold. Hope incorporates all shades of white from chalky whites and misty greys to milky hues for depth and interest. It’s a classic look.

* The Dulux colour consultation has to take place within 3 months of winner notification.
* The consultation will take place within a normal working week i.e. Monday to Friday between 9am- 5pm.
* Winners will be required to supply several date options for the consultation.
* Date of room decoration will be determined by the availability of a Dulux-accredited decorator in the local area, the Dulux-accredited decorator will be vetted and supplied by Dulux. Paint supplied will be from the Trends colour palette as agreed with Louise Smith.
