Posh homes aren’t just for rich people. Now first-time buyers can live in a stunning block of flats near Clapham Junction with private balconies, three penthouses, a landscaped roof terrace and views over the Thames. The minimum income required to apply for a shared-ownership home will be £25,000 for a studio apartment.

Time House, a development of 36 one- and two-bedroom apartments has been sold by developer Berkeley First to Thames Valley Housing.

The flats, originally intended mainly for private sales, will instead be made available entirely on a shared-ownership basis, with priority given to key workers and eligible residents in Wandsworth. Exact prices will not be released until June.

The occupiers will benefit from fast links to central London from Clapham Junction station and all the amenities of bustling Battersea.

Matthew Biddle, of Berkeley First, said: “With Time House we have demonstrated that there doesn’t need to be a big gap between what people can afford and the quality they can expect.”
